A personal brand that intersects with my purpose-driven businesses.

A brief history

I’ve provided consultancy and technical training services in some capacity since 2017 and my brand(s) have evolved quite a lot since then. Originally my branding was centered on the idea of “Visible Data” and R was entirely at the centre of everything I did (and wanted to do).

Then in 2023 I started to sketch out ideas on the differences between plotting, charting and telling data stories which eventually condensed down into “Graph Plot Chart Data Story”. Finally, in 2026 after a successful pitch of my dataviz software startup to the SETsquared incubator in Bristol I have arrived on the following,

GPCDS Labs

GPCDS Labs Ltd is the legal name for Visible Data, the startup where we’re building Pier. Pier is a human-first dataviz coach and recommendation engine.

My personal consultancy work is now provided under VizData Consulting. You’re on this site, welcome.

Brand palette

I built a vibrant, highly accessible brand palette containing a total of 25 colours back in 2023 when I designed the original idents to describe “Graph Plot Chart Data Story”. I love these colours. They are integral to the design of GPCDS Labs and all of its products and services. The colour palette is also used sparingly within my personal brand identity. but note there are clear differences as detailed in my no continuation of trade application to HMRC.
